Oslo Cathedral Choir is one of Norway’s foremost choirs, and is a pioneer in Norwegian church music.
In addition to singing at regular services in Oslo Cathedral, the choir’s activities include concert productions, recordings and tours.
It collaborates frequently with professional musicians and orchestras in connection with special services and concerts. One of the choir’s trademarks is its performances of large, significant sacred works (often with orchestra) in regular cathedral services.
Oslo Cathedral Choir has a unique function for the nation of Norway, as it must at all times be prepared to sing at services in connection with events of national significance.
Oslo Cathedral Choir was founded in its present form by Terje Kvam in 1982.
The choir’s present conductor and artistic director is Vivianne Sydnes, cantorof Oslo Cathedral.
